Nudism

Nudism to me is freedom.   People don't judge you by the way you look.  It's nice.  They don't care if you are too skinny, extremely fat, short, tall, hairy body, handicapped or whatever you might think.   People talk to you just like if you had cloths on. It's a great group of people to be around. Just like your friends from school, work, church, or where ever you meet people. You are more of an equal.

Since I have become a nudist, I have visited many resorts and a I have been an active nudist for almost 3 years now and only 2 years with AANR.  In March 2001 I got to pay a visit to the AANR office in Kissimmee, Florida.  They have a friendly bunch of people working there.   I went with the owner of Naturally California, Brian.  Erich Schuttauf, the Executive Director of AANR, left us a video since he couldn't be there in person due to a family emergency to welcome us.  We got a tour of the office and meet a lot of the staff.  We even had lunch with a few of the people working there.  It was a great experience and the next time I'm in Florida I hope to pay them another visit.

The resorts I have been to since 1999.  Glen Eden Sun Club in Corona, Ca:  Swallows Sun Island Resort in San Diego, Ca: Cypress Cove, Paradise Lake, and Caliente in Florida; Laguna Del Sol near Sacramento, Ca: De Anza Springs Resort in Jacumba, Ca: Olive Dell Ranch in Colton, Ca: Shangri La Ranch and Mira Vista Resort in Arizona: Lupin Naturist Club in Los Gatos, Ca, Mystic Oaks in Lake Elsinore, Ca and Sequoians in Castro Valley.  I have enjoyed myself in all of these resorts with out any strange encounters.  Which is a good thing being a woman.    All these resorts have at least one Pool, Jacuzzi, Tennis Court, and Volleyball.   Some have lakes, riverbeds, places to go hiking in the buff, and many other activities.

The beaches I've been to are "Little Beach" in Mekana, Maui, Hawaii, Blacks Beach, and San Onofre in San Diego County. My favorite is of course Little Beach. You have to climb over a small lava flow to get to it after you walk a good portion of Big Beach, but it is well worth laying nude on a nice beach in Hawaii. The sand is also softer on your feet due to the fact it is made of Coral and not quartz like the beaches here. Second is San Onofre. I like the easiness to getting there and that you don't have as many gawkers. Blacks is nice too. But the climb can be a big chore if you are out of shape. My first trip to Blacks, my legs hurt for a couple of days. It get's easier the more you do it, so I've been told. The beach is also a nice place to let yourself go and get used to being nude if you are afraid to go to a resort.

The club called Naturally California was founded in August of 1999, and I remember Brian calling me up on the phone at work telling me he was going to start a club.  He had recently come back from the WSA convention.  Since that date Naturally California has had a pizza nite every month and a swim.  At the beginning the attendance varied from 3 to 36 people at either event.  Pizza nite is a good way to make friends and to get to know the members of the club.  There is always something interesting to talk about.  Members talk about trips they have recently taken, current news topics, and even questions about what the club does and how people react to our type of living.  At the swims, people play water volleyball, swim laps, and sit in the sauna or Jacuzzi.  Some just come to socialize with other members.  After the swim a good number of people go to Applebee's and do some more socializing over food because they cannot get enough of each other's company.  During Nude Recreation Week, Naturally California usually heads to San Onofre and Blacks Beach to hand out buttons, literature about the up coming events and nudism, which includes a card on common beach etiquette.  He has also had a good number of skating events where as many as 50 people have enjoyed nude skating for three hours listening to their favorite music.  Some people even have roller blade wheels that glow as they are in motion.  Pretty cool stuff there.  Next year, 2002, will be the third annual Whale Watch.  It has been a 50/50 on spotting whales on our trip.  We always seem to find seals and other sea creatures when we cruise for two hours out of the harbor in Oceanside, Ca.  Each year we have been lucky and have had good weather to be able to enjoy ourselves.  We have had a few events at local nudist resorts.  One year we had a Wine and Cheese event where people brought wine, crackers, or cheese and we all sat at a table and talked up a storm.  It was great and everyone enjoyed themselves.    Sun Singles of Glen Eden invited us up to have a potluck with them and we had an honorary guest speaker from WSA, Jeannette DeRosier, who at that time was President.

Since I was asked by Brian of Naturally California to be the WINR representative of his club, it has gotten me thinking about why there isn't a flyer about singles. I think it would be wise to have something so that individuals would know what to expect from other individuals at resorts and beaches. Like common etiquette and what clubs are single friendly and open to new timers. There is a web site that is set up for nudists to meet. It's called SingleNudist.com and you can find it on the web. The nice thing about it is that all members are AANR members. Getting back to singles and resorts, I hear from a lot of people that Nudism is mainly a lot of older people. Why is that? Is it because younger people are not aware of these places? Or don't go because of the age factor when the do visit on a slow day? Does anyone really know what to do to increase the younger age bracket? Or why isn't there any women here? If you have any ideas, please contact me at this address. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome in trying to solve this mystery.

2008 I got to do my first Nudes in the News with Clothes Free TV and had a great time doing it. Check them out.
