Travels 2003

Well January is here and I have only been to Disneyland and Disney's California Adventures so far this year. I am hoping to do a bit of traveling this year. So far I have been invited to Maui, Washington DC, Ontario Canada, San Jose, Phoenix, Portland, Miami, and who know's were else. I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season. I spent Christmas and New Years here in California. I'll keep you posted as things come up. Happy New Year.

Well, it's hard to believe that is is now March. Where did the time go? Now that I'm in school four days a week and taking some fun classes, it's been keeping me busy. I'm taking Tennis, Photography, and Social Dance. I have been going to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Balboa Park to get my photo assignments done. But I can say that I have gotten A's on my first two photo assignments and will be turning in my third this week. I get to go to Stomp tonight after work. It will be nice to see a Broadway Musical. I'll be driving to Phoenix, AZ this weekend to go to the Singles Fling at Shangri La. It should be fun. Than next weekend I'll be flying to San Jose to go to the AANR West Board meeting in Lupin. It will be my second visit to this resort. I'm hoping the weather will be warmer than the last time I was there.

I'm back from Phoenix, AZ, and had a great time. I went to Shangri La Ranch and it was my third time there. It was the busiest I've ever seen it so far. This weekend, March 8th-9th, they did some seminars. One for WINR and Singles. I think both of them went over very well. It was interesting to see the different views from different members and that you weren't the only one with the same difficulties telling people you are a nudist. With WINR it was neat to hear the different stories of how people were introduced into nudism by their male partners. We even had someone there for their first visit. I was glad that we could make her feel comfortable and hope she'll come back again.

Well I'm back from San Jose from an AANR West Board Meeting. It was at Lupin again. Also another cold weekend. I did enjoy myself though. I was happy to know that they had wireless Internet. I was able to check my email and chat with some friends on-line. I am also happy about the new procedures Southwest has for checking in. They now have touch screens that you can use your rapid rewards card and get your boarding pass before you even go through security. It is very nice and you don't have to remember to print out your Itinarary to get past security anymore. Hard to believe that April is coming up soon. Another busy month for me. I have an out of town guest coming from Miami the same weekend Marianna Handler, "San Onofre's Beach Mom", farewell party before she leaves for Tennesee to be closer to her family. She is certainly going to be missed here. Please come and bring food the first weekend in April. Don't forget Naturally California's Skate Nite the weekend of the 12th. It's a lot of fun to have a big skating rink for a private party.

Well another month has come and gone, well almost. School is going good and things are looking up. My Brother is having a birthday next month and I'm taking him out for breakfast. Will be having a guest from Miami area coming out to visit me next month and it is their first time to the West Coast. It should be fun to show them around. I got to see my friends Shelley and Stephen and their little one of a year. It was nice to see them again. Hope to see them next month at Naturally California's Skate Nite. You can find more details on their web site.

Well April is here and I'm sure it will fly by just like the beginning of this year. My brother successfully turned 37 this year. My friends trip to California was successful. We went to Scripps Aquarium, San Diego Wild Animal Park, San Onofre State Beach, San Diego Zoo, and Old Town. I'm looking forward to Skate Nite with Naturally Ca this coming weekend. It should be interesting. Rumors have it that Clothesfree.com are going to be there. That should make it fun. I am hoping to get some work done on my condo during Spring Break and go to a Rodeo the last weekend so I can do my Photo Story Final for my photography class. Which is still going good by the way. Only about five weeks left of school. Have lot's to do and so little time to do it.

The Roller Skate night has come and gone. We had the honor of Clothesfree.com to come and document our event. You can see it at www.clothesfree.com. They also came to the April swim. It's that time of year again for the Annual Lakeside Rodeo and another KSON Country Feast. I'll let you know how the Rodeo goes.

Well, the Rodeo was good and the weather was great. In May I am concentrating on getting my stuff together for my Photography Final. I'm lucky that all of my classes do not require me to study for tests. The only class I have a test is is Tennis. Go figure that one out! It is hard to believe that 4 months of school have gone by and I only have two weeks left. This week I will be spending much of my free time in the Photo Lab at school to get my Photo Final Themed Portfolio done. Plus I am hoping to enter some prints into the County Fair this summer. That should be fun if I can get it done. I will also have some new artwork to hang on my walls at home.

Hard to believe that May has come and gone. School is out for the summer and the days are getting longer. I'll be going to Glen Eden this weekend for the Summer Festival June 6-8th. I'm hoping to get in to some sports action and maybe you'll see me when you come through the front gate Saturday afternoon. I'll be helping out with the $3 festival fee. I am hoping to see some familiar faces this weekend. Looking forward to going to the Del Mar Fair, I mean the now called San Diego County Fair. I have 3 prints that I entered in the photo section. I'm wondering if they will have any on display. Only one way to find out.

Well Summer Festival was nice. The weather started out yucky and overcasted, but wrapped up nicely with a sunny afternoon. I played in the Water Volleyball Tournament and our team made it to the finals. 2nd year in a row, we were cheated out of being a Champion because the winning team cheated. Funny thing is some of them admitt to it. There will be next year. I guess I cannot complain. I won at last years Convention for AANR West. I'm looking forward to this years AANR West Convention at Shangri La Ranch in Arizona. It should be fun and hot.

Well, it is Nude Recreation Week and I'll be heading to the beaches this weekend. I'm glad that the June Gloom is gone. Than there is Disneylands Birthday July 17th. I had a great time at my first Disneyland Birthday visit to the park. They had a special scavenger hunt and you collected postcards and received a Mickey Mouse pin when you were done. For Nude Recreations weekend I went to San Onofre Beach on Saturday and Blacks Beach on Sunday. Both days had nice weather. Parking sucks at San Onofre, but the climb down to Blacks isn't that easy (even though they seem to keep making improvements to the trail that goes down to it). A big improvement since my first trip there in 2000.

I just came back from Phoenix, AZ. Went to the AANR West Convention at Shangri La Ranch Resort. Had a great time even if the tempurature was in the low 100's. I spent most of my time inside for AANR West Board Meetings. That was a load of fun. I got myself re-elected to the Board for another two years. I had the second highest votes out of eight candidates. I think I did pretty well. So that means I'll be going to a few more board meetings. I am curious on how things will go at the AANR Convention that is taking place at Cherokee in Tennessee. Will AANR Tomorrow pass or will it come up again next year? I think we are all sitting on the edge of our seats to see what happens. My next trip is coming up soon. I'll be traveling back to where my mother was born to witness a cousin getting married. A few years back I went there to see her older sister get married. So, it will be neat to see how everyone has changed since my last visit. I'll be there for eight complete days and traveling for two. That is the one thing I had about traveling back to the East Coast. It takes all day to get there and home. Overall I am excited to go back. I get to meet some family members for the first time and that will be neat. I'm hoping to learn more about my family that lives out there in Canada. When I am done with my trip, school starts the following Monday. I am also looking forward to going back to school so I can learn how to do color processing. I've done Black and White, but none with Color. That should be neat.

I survived my trip to Canada this month. The most exciting part was landing at the Detroit Airport with no electricity. Known as Hydro in Canada. We had to wait about 45 minutes on the plane for a moving stairway to come and let us off the plane. I called one of my friends in California and told them that we were waiting to get off the plane because the electricity was out. He went to CNN and discovered that it was out in Canada, and Detriot to New York. So I started to wonder if I'd make it to my Aunts house that day. Than we got to wonder around the airport in the dark, even though it was a little after five o'clock. People were sitting on the floor waiting for the sercurity check to open back up when the power goes back on, but in the end, they ended up closing the airport soon after I got my luggage in the dark. The fun part was trying to use the bathrooms. They were completely dark and you didn't know the lay out to them. There were people with matches, cigarette lighters, and some had pen lights waiting in line to use the restrooms. I learned they call them washrooms in Canada. Than I sat and waited for the shuttle bus to come and pick me up. It was about 40 minutes late because they had closed the tunnel to the border. The towns were like ghost towns because everyone went home and everything was closed because of no electricity. Fast foods, gas stations, food stores, banks, everything that didn't have a back up generator was closed. So it made for an interesting drive to London, Ontario. What I also thought was different, their stop lights didn't have flashing red lights to let you know there was an intersection there. They were completely turned off. I guess that is one nice thing about California. I did make it to my final destination, Kirkton, Ontario about 11:30 at night. We got our Hydro (electricity) turned back on before noon and it never went off again until we had a thurnder storm Thursday night. Even than it just flickered. During my stay I stayed on my Uncle Ed's Farm, went to a wedding, went to Owen Sound to see some Great Aunts and some old family friends, saw my Grandparents grave, and went to Niagria Falls for the first time. Click here and you'll see some of the pictures of where I went for my vacation of ten days. It was really weird coming back home to San Diego after being in such small towns on my vacation. I think Kirkton has about 8,000 people and so did a lot of the towns we drove through. Over all, it was very nice to get away from my everyday life. Now I am back home and have started school. I'm taking Color Photography this time. I'm hoping it will improve my photo skills in color since I've taken a few black and white classes now. We shall see how I do over the semester. I'm really looking forward to the long weekend and relaxing a little now that I am back at home.

Well, I went to my first TNS gathering. Had a lot of fun. Wasn't sure what to expect from it. I discovered that I knew a few people at the gathering. It was nice to see some friends and catch up on gossip. Been going to the gym often and I'm starting to finally drop some weight as well as gaining muscle. Both a good thing. Looking forward to the AANR West Fall Festival at DeAnza Springs Resort. The theme is Stone Age, like the Flintstones cartoon. That should be fun.

The Fall Festival was a blast. I played water volleyball and horse shoes. Went with a group of friends. We watch a movie on a big screen and went dancing afterwards. We even mooned the hay ride when it came around. What fun you can have with friends. Did some night photos for my color class this semester. Hector and I went to La Jolla to take pictures. I drove to the Steven Birch Aqurium and we took pictures of the whale statues they have outside. I'm hoping to make some pictures from class so I can scan them and put it on my web site. Halloween weekend I'll be heading to Shangri La Ranch in Phoenix for another board meeting. It is tacky tourist weekend there. Until next time.

Well, I'm back from Phoenix, AZ and I still have my home. I am glad that the fires are pretty much undercontrol now and almost completely contained here in San Diego County. I was located closer to the Paradise Fire. It came about 5 miles to my home. I watched it go up and down in the mountains valleys as it slowly tried to creep it's way towards Escondido. It never reached any homes near me, but there was insulation falling from the skys as the fire approached. It ended up spliting into two fires and headed east when the winds changed. The air quality was sooo bad that they closed schools (for one week, even most of the colleges and universities) and recommended people to stay home from work because of all the smoke in the air was bad to breathe. Said it was equivalent to 1 1/2 packages of cigarettes for one day of being outside. Now I get to take a hose to my porch and patio so I can let my cat back outside. It has rained some off and on this past weekend, but it didn't wash away the ash that is under the rooftops. Get to go back to school this week and see if the teacher will post pone our assignment that is due on Wednesday. I have half of it done and might get to finish it tonight in lab. I'm hoping to put my color photos on here when i get time to scan them in. I think that is all I can think to write about. I do have a friend in FL that mentioned me in his Journal. So I'm going to give my friend Ryan a plug. He is a guy that I meet on SingleNudist.com and have been chatting with for about 3 years now. We finally meet this year when he flew to San Diego in April. Well, enjoy his site and visit SingleNudist.com if you are an AANR member and a nudist. You never know who'll meet on there.

Well hard to believe that Turkey Day is almost upon us. It's tomorrow. I'll be spending it with an old high school friend and relaxing the rest of the weekend doing stuff around the house and who know's what else. Also hard to believe that Christmas is only four weeks away. Oh boy, I haven't even started my shopping. Have you? It is also hard to believe that school is almost over. Only two weeks left than it's Finals! Boy does time fly. I'm hoping to get my color photos online soon. I'll just scan in my color negatives and post them on a page when I have some time this weekend. I need to work on finishing a quilt so I can get it off for a Christmas gift. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and I'm sure I'll write before Christmas.

Well, it is 8 Days before Christmas and I have been a little busy Bee. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I did. I'm looking forward to spending Christmas with some friends and their family. It's always fun watching kids open their gifts. I'm pretty much done with Christmas shopping and will be glad when these holidays are over. I still cannot believe another year has gone by. I went to Disneyland with some friends earlier this month and had a great time. I need to locate the picture and put it on here so you can see. Than again. I think I have to scan it first. I have started quilting that quilt and hope to have it finished by Christmas time. Once again, I have waited till the last minute to get one done. I have another Christmas Party to go to this coming weekend with Dave as our host from Blacks Beach Bares. I'm hoping it will be as much fun as last year. One of my friends had a baby on Nov. 24th, 2003 (of course). I should put some pictures up of him too. He's a cutie. Can't wait to see him in person. They named him Wyatt. I just finished making him a birth anouncement with a teddy bear out of x-stitch. I need to decide to frame it by quilting or what? Looking forward to going to the Wild Animal Parks Festival of Lights again this year. I think they have added some new stuff. I renewed my membership and enjoy going there often. The weather has been chilly in the morning and even have had frost on the roof tops lately. Burr... I went to see my friend Lynn perform with the San Diego Chorus Sweet Adelines do their Holiday performance. It was wonderful. A group of us went to the first nights showing. We had a lot of fun. They are performing again in June of 2004. Not sure I'll be in town or on a school field trip. Time will tell. Hope you have a Wonderful Christmas and a Grand New Year. Happy Holidays Everyone.
