Travels 2006

Happy 2006 everyone. Sorry it's been a while since I've updated my site. I've been busy with going to school full time and working full time. Both take up a lot of time. I try to hang out with my friends when I have some free time. In the beginning of the year I was working graveyard and going to school 3 nights a week and taking an online course. I can now say that I have put that semester behind me and am waiting for another one to follow in August.

I wasn't able to do or go anywhere for Spring Break this year. Heaven only knows how much I would have loved to had gone somewhere and get away from my every day life of working 5 days a week and going to school 3 nights and keeping up with my online class. I can say that I passed all my classes with 3 A's and 1 B. The reason I couldn't go anywhere was due to me being on Federal Court Jury Duty for the whole month of March. They make you be on call the whole month and you have to call in each week to see if they need you. My first two weeks I got away with not having to go, but of course, as Murphy's Law would have it. I ended up having to show up for one day during my Spring Break for Jury Duty and had to call in every day to see if they needed me. When I did go in to the courts, I didn't get selected for a jury. I was one person away from being selected. I did get to see how the process went to selecting a jury and that was interesting. I'm just wondering when I'll have to do that one again.

Now that school is out and it is almost summer time, I have a bunch of free time to work over time, hang out with friends (because I'm on days again), read books, watch movies and what ever else my heart desires. I'm hoping to make a few trips to Disneyland, California Adventures, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, and some baseball games at Petco Park. I have gone to one already this year with my friend Rich from the UK. I think it was the first time I went to a game and the Padres won. Besides that, it was a very good and action packed game against the Brewers. I think I'll hit a few mid day games since they are on my days off.

The week after school was out I went to Canada once again to visit family and see some sights. Discovered some Maple Peanut Brittle while I was there. I brought two bags of it home and took some to work to share with everyone. I only spent a week there. This time the traveling to and from wasn't so bad. It took all day going both ways, but at least there wasn't much of a big event going on at either place. Seemed like it took forever getting from point A to B and back to A. I had a good time. I got to visit with many relatives once again. Meet some new ones and see old ones too. I was hoping to go in June after my cousin Judi had her baby, but I couldn't get any decent airfares during that time. So I got to see her pregnant and am looking forward to seeing pictures after the baby is born. She didn't see if it was a boy or a girl. So we should find out the week of June 12th. My Aunt Betty took me to a play in Stratford and that was interesting. We at at this bar and grill before the play and the food was really good. I will say I enjoyed my visit. I finished reading DaVinci Code and started reading the Chronicles of Narnia by CS. Lewis. I am almost done with book 5 and have 2 more to go. That is another good thing about summer and not having to worry about doing homework. I can read books as much as I want too.

I have been hiking with my neighbor Robert and a friend named Steve every now and than at Daley Ranch on the weekends after I get off from work. We hike for about 2 to 3 hours depending on what trail we take. We have seen a lot of wild life on our hikes. Seen a lot of bugs, lizards, rattle snakes, and some Osprey's I think they are called besides other smaller birds. I guess we cannot forget the flowers that are on the trails growing wild. They come in all shapes, colors, and sizes.

Hello there. Hard to believe that June is almost over. I went to another baseball game and the Padres won. That is 2 games this year. It was against Oakland A's. Tonights games is going in the Padres favor too. 8 to 1 in the 8th inning. I went to the San Diego Fair again today. I thought I was being smart by heading towards the water to escape the heat we've been having, but found out is was just as muggy there as it was inland. It has been hot and muggy for a few weeks now. Doesn't look like there will be an end in sight. Oh well, it's summer. I'm not looking forward to see how high my electric bill is going to be this month. The A/C has been on a bit. I recently joined Netflix and have been catching up on movies I haven't seen. Today I watched a movie called Dreamer with Kurt Russell and Dakota Fanning in it. It was about a race horse. Good movie. I have seen about 7 movies now since joining. All have been good. I am looking forward to seeing Memiors of a Geshia tomorrow. I still need to make it to the theater to see Cars. I want to see it on the big screen. Okay, Padres won again tonight. ":O)

I was looking back to what I wrote in 2005. I cannot believe that I forgot to write about the honor of becoming a God Mother to Sydney Marie. It is hard to believe it will be a year in July. Boy does time fly. I need to add some pictures of her on here and some from my trip to Canada in May. I found out that my Cousin Judi had a little boy. Don't know his name or any other info on him yet. I need to work on shrinking the sizes of the photo's before I can put them on here. Don't want it to take forever to load the page you know. I started the page and it will be a work in progress. Hope you'll enjoy it after I get some more work done on it.

Well the summer has come and gone and it is hard to believe that I'm already in my third week of school. I did have a bit of fun this summer. My God Daughter turned ONE years old in July. Went to both AANR Conventions. AANR West held theres in August at Glen Eden and the National's 75th AANR Convention was at DeAnza Springs this year. They did a lot of fun stuff for the 75th. The amazing thing was they had a tattoo and peircing artist there. My friend Danielle got her navel peirced and after watching her do it, I got mine done too. It's been almost 4 weeks since I've had it. I went to a few baseball games supporting my favorite team, San Diego Padres. They are in the run for the wildcard in the playoffs as of today. I have been at my current job for 2 years now. Time sure does fly. I saw a few movies too, got to see Pirates (which I loved, laughed a lot during the movie), Devil wears Prada (good too), Cars (Disney cartoon), and Superman Returns (I enjoyed it because I didn't have anything to compare it too). I wanted to see the DaVinci Code, but I guess I will have to wait for it to come out on video to see it. The book was really good reading. It was action packed from beginning to the end. Of course I didn't read between the lines like a lot of people. It was a book for enjoyed reading. Go figure that concept. Let's see, what else did I do this summer. I went to Blacks Beach a few times. The weather was great and my legs didn't hurt too much the day after. I need to get back into going to the gym. Been a while and I've gained some weight since I went back to days at work. Plus it's been a warm summer and you don't want to go outside much. Looking forward to cooler weather so I can get back out and hike at Daley Ranch on the weekends with my neighbor. I enjoy the wonderful outdoors, beautiful sights, while getting exercise. At the end of September I will be cutting my hair short. I am a little tired of it being long. I will be donating it to cancer people for making wigs. I figured it could be put to good use. Till next time.

Well, it's been a while since I've written. School was over with the 2nd week of December. After finals I went to Disneyland. I went with a guy I'm dating named Jeremy. Things are going well and I look forward to seeing where it goes. We spent Christmas Eve and New Years Eve together. Of course I had to work the next day, so I wasn't up till midnight on either of those days. I found out New Years Eve that a good friend had passed away from a car accident. She was traveling home with her husband Mike from Vegas after visiting his family. It's sad to say that Lynn didn't make it. A lot of us will certainly miss her. Lynn was always a positive, fun, active, and full of life. She loved spending time with friends and family. Was always smiling and giving advice whenever you asked for it. I know that a lot of people will miss her. Lynn was most active with the San Diego Chorus. A group of us from Naturally California would go and see her perform whenever we could. I am just hoping the new year will go off with a bang in a happy way.
