Travels 2004

Happy New Year all. Hope you had a nice ending to 2003. I spent it at home watching the new Sex and the City Season Five DVD. I had a glass of Hawaiian pineapple wine with my dinner. It was nice and relaxing. I haven't traveled any yet this year, but I am hoping to take a few trips besides the ones for the AANR West Board Meetings. I would like to take a trip to see one of my high school friends that I haven't seen since Granduation. Her husband was kind enough to leave me a message on my answering machine this summer and we've been talking since. I have a free ticket on Southwest airlines and I'm hoping I get to use it to visit her and her family. I bought a new stove and microwave that goes above it on the first Saturday of the year at Sears. It will be nice to have a new stove. Sears was having one of their specials, no interest till 2005. So I have a year to pay it off. I get it the following weekend. Have to remove the old stove, cut the countertop so the new one will fit. Sounds like fun to me. Get to use power tools. I am also looking at getting my wood floors from Costco since they are half the price of Home Depot for the self install pergo style floors. Can't go wrong with that. I took my tree down and still have to put my house back to normal with the furniture. I'm watching a friends birds while they are gone for the holidays and they haven't come to get them yet. One laid an egg, but it is busted and she still sits on it. I need to clean the cage and remove it. And call John back so he can come get his birds. So has everyone made their New Years Resolution? I have made a few, same as last year. Mostly to finish up unfinished projects and to loose some weight, which I did, but I think I gained it back between Christmas and the New Year. At least not all of it. School starts on the 20th and I'm taking another color photo class and will be taking some self paced classes for Word and Excel and some other similar programs. Need to buff up and get ready for a new job when mine moves to Ohio this summer. I have been looking recently and we'll see if anything jumps out at me or not.

Well, it is almost February and school starts tonight. I get to find out what I'm in for this semester. Should be fun. I need to get out and start taking photo's and get use to my new Cannon Rebel Ti body that I purchased in December. I get emails from people asking me why I don't have any Nude Photo's of me. Because I don't want them to get into the wrong hands. You will not find any and I will not email any to anyone either. Over the weekend, I purchased a 2002 Used Chev Malibu LS V6 Beige in color. I never thought I would own an American Made car. Not sure if it is American made anymore with companies going aboard because of cheaper labor. So does anyone want to buy a 1990 Toyota Excab/Deluxe/Longbed? It is in need of engine work, but does run. Has over 200K miles, black with grey interior, cloth seats, room for 5 passagers with seatbelts. You can email me at Michelle@wcorlyf.com with an offer or any questions about the truck. I can email you photo's too. I am the original owner and have put on all the miles, most of them being highway miles traveling accross the US and neighboring states, OR, AZ, NV mostly. I am looking forward to my first 5K walk next month. I will be doing the 5000K speedway walk at the Fontana Raceway. We get to walk on the race track and see the pits. Should be a lot of fun. I am hoping to do one a month for the next 4 months. We shall see. Looking forward to the Whale Watch event with Naturally California now that the Date has been picked. It is March 14th, 2004 our of Oceanside. You can find more information on the web site at www.naturallyca.com.

Well, it's the middle of March and I've been to Washington DC and Phoenix recently. Last weekend a group of us went on the Naturally California's Nude Whale Watch. It was nice to get out on the water, but with the over casted sky's it was hard to tell the difference between the sky and water. We had a large group of people of all ages. A group of us had lunch at the harbor after the cruise. Hopefully Brian will have another boat cruise this summer when the sun will be out. I really enjoyed my trip to Washington DC/VA at the end of February. I flew in Wednesday afternoon and left on Sunday evening. Got to see a portion of downtown DC area. I got to see the White House, Washington Monument, Vietnam Memorial, Korean Memorial, Lincoln Monument, FDR Monument, and the Jefferson Memoria. I'm saving the rest for future visits. I'm also hoping that it will be greener when I go. I got to see many parts of Virginia where my high school bubby Chuc-lan lives. I had a lot of fun with her daughter Natalie. My favorite quote of hers was, "Mommy, pick me up. I'm too busy to walk." We had a laugh with that a few times. Chuc-lan and I did a lot of Antique shopping while I was there. I found a few old camera's and I'm going to test one to see if it still works. I have checked to see if all the mechanisms work and they do. It would be really cool if I could find film to use in them. I'm going to work on getting some pictures up from my DC trip that I took digital. I might scan some of my 35mm pictures later. Well, till next time.

Well, April is here and will soon be gone with the way time has been flying. I had a fried, Ryan, come down from FL this past week and spend some time with me in San Diego. We took a trip to Vegas for 2 days. We stayed at the Stratusphere and walked the strip from the hotel all the way to Tropicanna and back. We figured we would take the monorail back to the hotel, but found out that it still wasn't running. We were bummed when we found that out. We saw a bit of the strip and dodged the unexpected thunderstorm that hit Thursday night. We went to the bigger casinos and checked out some of their displays and shows. We saw the water show and flower exhibit at the Belligeo, went to the top of the Eiphel (spelling?) tower and took some pictures of the strip and the Belligeo water show. It was pretty neat to see it from up above vs. down below. Got pictures of both views. Waiting to see how pictures turn out when I go and pick up my film later today. We saw the Volcano at the Mirage hotel as we were walking back to our hotel. Saw the lions at MGM. Two females that were awake and active with trainers in their enclosure. Got a free deck of cards from Tropicana Hotel from pulling the handle on one of their slot machines. Went inside the Coca-Cola and M&M shops, wondered around the forum of Ceasars to escape the rain. As always, there is always a lot of people handing out porn stuff on the street and people walking with drinks on the main drag. Nothing new. Next time we will do some more hotels at the other end of the strip. I have a 5 mile walk coming up in a few weeks for Kiwains Youth program in La Jolla and in May I'll be doing a 5K walk for Breast Cancer. Should be fun and I always enjoy the goody bag. Hard to believe I'll be another year older in a few weeks. And I still haven't gotten my taxes done. Only a few days left too. Gotta run, got's lots to do.

Sorry it has been soo long since I last updated my web site. The summer has just been to busy and lots of fun. Did the 5 K walk around Fiesta Island in Mission Bay. Weather was nice. In June I took a 2 week class on Geology 195 Field Study. The trip started in Kingman, AZ and ended somewhere near I-80 in Wyoming, just above Utah. We traveled through AZ, UT, NM, CO and WY for our class. I'd have to say that UT is a very pretty state. Has a lot of nice parks and monuments to go see. Got to see a lot of new sites and some old ones. Meaning if I have been there before or not. So with that I think I am done with some trips till the fall. Meet a bunch of nice people on my trip and we have been doing things together from time to time. We spent a day at the beach and now we are planning on visiting our friend Chry-sta for a house warming party at the end of the month. Should be a lot of fun. Hard to believe that school will be starting again in about one month. I already have my schedule done and need to finish getting my financial aid work in. That will have to wait till next week to do that Too busy today to get there before they close. Found out today that I have a fracture in one of my teeth and need to get it fixed. Only bummer thing is that my dental plan sucks. So I am going to see if I can get back on my old plan from my previous job and get some things taken care of. I know I should have taken care of things before they left. ":O( Procastination is so easy to do. I'll need to spell check this later. The U.S.S. Ronald Regan will be docking in San Diego tomorrow and they are doing a big celebtation on it. Will be televised on a lot of news stations and they are having fireworks later in the evening. Would be neat to go and see. If I do not go to the Wild Animal Park with my friend Kathleen, maybe I'll go to Sea World and watch the fire works from there. Going to go and work on adding some new photos to my site. Need to resize and upload them all.

Hard to believe it is almost September. School is back in session and the traffic is heavy once again. I'm in the process of starting another job. We'll see how this one goes. If I can get my foot in the door and get beyond my probation period, I'll be set for retirement. I've been catching up with movies this past month and also watching the Olympics. Need to get moving back into finishing up some home improvements. I bought wood lamanent and need to get a few things done before I get it installed. Than I'll be one step closer to being done with my projects. I've decided to go back to school and get my 4 year degree. I haven't decided on my major, but I have one semester to think about it and see what I can do with it in my next employement career.
